Yesterday I talked about value systems and how taking the time to bring yours into focus in your life can help you to avoid procrastination.

Thinking about it I realized that our value system also effects other things in our lives.

Here's a small list, I'm sure that it's only the beginning.

HOW DOES YOUR VALUE SYSTEMS EFFECT YOUR LIFE?

Value systems effect…

  • focus and clarity
  • results
  • our decision making abilities
  • our actions

You could say that deciding on your values is the biggest decision. After that, it gets a lot easier.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Your value system in short is what you stand for.

Do you stand for peace and happiness in your home?

Do you stand for the happiness and healthy development of your children?

Do you stand for your own values?

If you haven't, take a minute to clarify to yourself what your main values are.

Start with a short list of one thing in each major area of your life to help you focus on bringing your values into your life through your daily actions.

If you find yourself with too many major areas, try a basic theme for all of them.

An example might be decency and respect. That could encompass every aspect of your life.

Or living a simple life.

That could as well.

There is power in this.

Every decision that you make can be as easy as asking yourself, is this action in harmony with my core value/s?

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Sometimes saying it out loud helps a thought become a reality.

The core value that I am working on at this time is order.

Before I make a decision I ask myself, will this action bring order or KAOS to my life?

You can let us know what your core value is in the comments section below.

Focus on it for a week and then come back and let us know how it went.
