Do You Twitter?

I just signed up on twitter the other day, it's a kind of cute social networking service.

I still am not clear on all the details but basically you sign up and post what you are up to when you want to. You can follow people to see what they are up to and they can follow you.

It can be quite interesting. It's free to sign up. My page is http://www.twitter.com/queenofkaos

UPDATE: My goodness times change! Since I originally wrote this post in September 2007, Twitter has exploded on the internet, thanks largely to Ed Dale and the Thirty Day Challenge (which is free and totally awesome, I suggest that you check it out), as a place to interact for personal use and for business.

I have found it to be a lot of fun, I enjoy checking out the resources that are often posted there and it is so cool to get an inside look behind some of the online personality's that I've been familiar with through their professional work and websites.

Another great thing about it is that other people can get to know you as well, people who would never have known you at all otherwise.

And it makes it easy to contact these people as well.

And it is a GREAT arena to get to know hundreds of people who have the same interests as you.

These days I find that a lot of social marketing is geared towards the 'big names'.

But there is a lot of value to getting to know everyone, if they have the same interests as you.

One more thing. These days there are many social and web applications that will allow you to feed your tweets such as facebook, and there are also applications that will auto tweet for you - for example from your blog.

In short, Twitter allows you to really get out there and to have fun while your doing it.

If you haven't checked Twitter out yet, it's time to have a look.

Here's my twitter page.

NOTE: Don't get too caught up. Allow yourself a small amount of time at set periods of the day to read  and don't get caught up in posting useless tweets that are of no interest to anyone just to 'get your face' up there.

See the Thirty Day Challenge for a free video in the preseason section that fully explains how to use it and how to use TWHIRL, a free download that makes it all easy and fast.
