The No Brainer

Reviews

By now, if you're like me, you've already got a lot of courses and ebooks about internet marketing with no plans to get more anytime soon.

And most of you have probably seen the promotion for the Stomping the Search Engines free package deal.

If you have been thinking about it yourself, I thought you might want to see my view on it, and the process that I went through in deciding, since personally, I held off to the last minute to order mine, with no real intentions of getting it, but now I'm glad that I did.

I'd gone to the site about 1/2 dozen times and got as far as filling in my email but quit every time for 2 reasons.

REASON #1

I felt overwhelmed when I saw all of the information that the free package contained.

I am very committed at this time to staying on track with my plans, and taking another course doesn't really fit.

REASON #2

And I am also committed to reducing my spending on courses, and I knew that I would be tempted to get at least one of the upsells in the free package (or more!).

DOING THE FLIP FLOP

The last day I still had no intention of ordering. I was playing with the idea but had pretty much decided.

Then I was in a traffic forum looking up something else and saw a conversation about it.

One of the members said that they highly recommend anything from StomperNet.

This had been one of the major pulls for me right from the beginning, as I truly do feel that they are cutting edge and I knew that their info would be fresh and actionable and I had always promised myself that if they ever offered a deal that I would take it.

It's funny how one little thing coming from a totally unexpected place can turn things completely around.

I decided to have another look at Lynn Terry's Stomping the Search Engines 2.0 review

I'd been watching it this week while sitting on the fence (it's much more comfortable in a chair!)

THE NET EFFECT

The one thing that was really drawing me in was the free copy of the Net Effect.

Like Lynn, I am not a big video fan, I am a paper/pen person. I love to read and muck about, get away from the computer, make notes and do a quick review if I need to find something specific etc.

And things just stick better for me if their written down.

So the prospect of having a quality publication that would spell it out for me was mighty tempting.

In the end I decided to give it a go.

And the going wasn't easy.

MORE FATE

Since fate had waited until the last possible minute to intervene, by the time got around to ordering it had started raining.

Not spitting or kind of raining, but a torrential downpour with wind that knocked out my satellite.

Lucky I still had dial up, so I dialed up.

But as luck would have it my son was doing a late shift at work and I didn't know when he was driving home.

So I didn't want to tie up the phone line any longer than I had to in case he got stuck somewhere on the way home.

It would not have been pleasant, especially since I don't think he had a boat with him (and probably not even a jacket).

But I was determined, so I plodded on.

Every click took forever on my crappy line, with me eyeing the phone with every minute, but by this time, I really wanted the Net Effect, and also the first bonus discount, which you will see during the sign up process.

I was very tempted to go for the last one as well, as my internet connection wavered, so did I, with a shaky hand on the stop button. As I sat there with that screen in front of me, waiting to load the next one, it would have been so easy, but I did resist.

And now I will always wonder if I did the right thing, especially with temptation so close.

But I am extremely happy that I went ahead and will be receiving my free Net Effect Journal along with a free video companion AND a free copy of the full Stomping the Search Engines 2.0 course (about a $1,000 package deal if I recall).

I'm in Canada, so it's costing me about $20.00 to ship, not a bad deal.

In the states I think it was a $9 and change.

SO WHAT ABOUT MY INITIAL REASONS?

Reason #1 – I felt that it was going to put me into overload. Well I decided to take some good advice. The price was right so I will be able to pick and choose exactly what I can use from the course as I need it, instead of feeling pressure to consume the whole thing and use every crumb of it to get my money's worth.

Not only that, in my studies that I have doing lately on success, time management and organization, I have found that this very thing is something that every successful person does.

You may be familiar with the term 'take away'. That is exactly what they do. They don't overwhelm themselves with every detail that they don't need, as well as the ones that they do.

They never stop educating themselves, and they pick and choose what they use.

Reason #2 – Money. In the end I realized that $20 was a mere pittance to what I could earn with the added knowledge of getting higher rankings in the search engines.

You have probably all noticed that the majority of your traffic comes from the search engines.

If you are spending a lot of time on social marketing, you may be getting a fair bit from Stumbleupon or Twitter etc as well.

Generally, to be honest, when I get traffic spikes from these places, I've never noticed them to convert well.

But the search engines for me are consistent and bringing me targeted traffic.

So I want more, because one thing I've noticed is that as my traffic is going up, my sales are going up too.

In the end it was really a no brainer.

ONE MORE HURDLE

There was one more thing that was sticking me originally.

It was the subscription to the video and Net Effect. What if I don't want to receive it anymore?

I am one of the people who continue with subscriptions, and the expense, after I want it anymore because I never get around to canceling it.

On top of it, I am not a phone person, since you have to call to cancel this one I was a little dubious.

But then again, I got to thinking to myself.

Self, am I in this for fun or am I taking myself at all seriously. (answer – I am having fun and that's why I'm taking myself seriously.)

Because if I can't pick up the phone to cancel a subscription in exchange for all of this kick a** information, how dedicated am I, really?

So that was it.

Now I am anxiously awaiting delivery.

Especially after receiving an email letting us know what is in the first month of the video subscription.

I guess one more reason that I had for not jumping at the opportunity is because I consider myself quite knowledgeable already, and was wondering what else could there possibly be that I MUST know now?

But after viewing the video content listing, I can say, that not for the first time in my life, I am amazed at what I don't know. At what I wouldn't have even considered.

And I am impressed. It's much more than the usual places to put keywords.

So… if you've got a few bucks to pay for shipping, even a small amount of time to pick and choose a few things that you can do over the next little while to get your site ranked better in the search engines to start pulling in more sales and if you can pick up the phone to cancel your subscriptions should you decide that the initial free bundle is all that you need, then you probably will want to have a look at everything you get (if you haven't got it already).

You can see all the info at Lynn's blog, who by the way has already reviewed the premier copy of The Net Effect, so she's seen it for herself first hand.

There has been no word as to how long the package is going to be available, the order link is still up now, so if you do want to check into it, you should do it now in case they take it down.

I will be here. Anxiously awaiting.
