Are You New Here?
The kids are back to school today, somehow it feels like my first day at a new job.
I've cleaned my desk, given it a good wipe down.
What's the next step?
Do I jump right into projects that I've been working on – as I could this past summer around driving kids here and there, beach bumming afternoons away with my daughter and her friends or shopping non stop it seems for the last month for back to school.
Nope.
The first thing that I have an overwhelming urge to do on my first day back at my new job is to set some goals and make some plans.
To start out with a clean slate, review and revamp plans that I've had in the works, ditch some outdated goals and make a few new ones.
To get out my brand spanking new big office white board and have some fun!
If your kids are just starting back to school this week, or even if they've been back awhile, today is a great day to do a little clean up and reorganizing, and to get out your white boards and/or what ever you use for a planning system and get some heavy duty planning done for the months coming up.
Note: My very favourite new planning toy is the Todoolist. It's so easy to use and is a paper based mind mapping system with a twist.
Have a look if you need some clarity and like to make your plans using a simple and fast method. I'm going to go over my copy this morning before I get down to my own planning.
BUSY MONTHS ARE AHEAD
The internet starts to come alive again starting September and raises to a crushing crescendo by December, so get on it today.
You know what they say – luck is being ready for opportunities when they come along.
I believe this to be true – 100%.
And you can do this through goals and planning. And of course doing.
Are you ready to be lucky?
Let's get on it!
Have a look at your big picture and start filling in the details today.
Happy first day!
