Creativity and Clarity – My Favourite Place to Get Them
Wed, Aug 20, 2008
Today as I was having a shower, I was mulling over the audio that I had been working on for the 6 Steps for Increased Productivity report.
It hit me once again, what a great place the shower is for brainstorming and getting clarity when my mind is in a jumble.
The water seems to wash the hundreds of words that are stuck there down the drain so that I can go onto something new, or get a big picture of what it is all about.
Since clarity and creativity are 2 of the cornerstones of a successful business, it made me think of the other places that I use to get clarity and to bet the creative juices flowing.
Here's the list.
5 BEST PLACES TO GET CLARITY AND CREATIVITY
1 – The Shower – as mentioned, nothing like washing out the old to bring in the new.
2 – Walking the dog (or you kids or just yourself).
3 – Driving – especially on those lone car trips such as returning from chauffeuring kids around (if you are dropping them off, it doesn't work so well if you are picking more up!) Shut off the radio and the info tapes and just let your thoughts flow. But watch the road!
4 – Biking – I love to bike and almost always come home refreshed, renewed and full of great ideas.
5 – Sitting around. Do you have a favourite sitting spot? Either outside enjoying the summer sun (in the shade :0) or snuggled and cozy inside on a cold winter day. If you don't have one, create one and use it. Sit with a pen and paper and be amazed at what you come up with. I love to do this first thing in the morning.
How about you? Do you have any great places that help you to find clarity and creativity?
I would love to hear them!
Oh, how could I forget the very best place – the beach! I spend a lot of summer afternoons with my daughter and her friends at the beach, prime brainstorming, creativity and clarity time.
Best Place to Get Clarity and Creativity #6 – The Beach!
I think those are the best places for new ideas and creative thinking. I know majority of thinkers would always know that. Anyhow best of those is the last one. I love to sit lonely in front of sunset.
