Lazy Summer Days – Ripe for September Planning

Wed, Aug 13, 2008

Talking Out Loud

Summer appears to be winding down already although for us it hardly got started this year. It beats -30 but a few too many torrential downpours for my liking. One is nice. One every day for weeks – not so nice!

Some of the kids are already returning to school. Mine don't go back until the beginning of September. My son is finished for this year.

It's going to be strange.

PLANNING FOR SEPTEMBER?

Whether or not your kids are back to school, with September fast approaching it's time to get in gear while trying to enjoy the rest of the summer (can you walk and chew bubblegum, it's kind of the same thing!)

What are your plans for September? Think about them now and do what you can to be ready.

If your kids are still on break, this will mean being ultra focused on where you want to be – any new products, email lists, content, marketing etc to be ready for when everyone gets back to the grind?

THE 1000 HOURS PROJECT

I've been focusing on getting my new product – The 1000 Hours Project – Work at Home Productivity on Steroids in shape for September.  (you may notice the title or tagline change, I'm not sure what I'm going to use yet).

You can use that link to sign up to be notified when it's ready and also get on the list for prelaunch pricing and any bonuses.

It's been kind of fun to use my own advice to get things done. If I had listened to myself, it would have been ready last year!

I will have more about it and some tips on how you can increase your productivity, project management and product development as soon as I get a chance to come up for air – ie. when the kids are back in school or no one needs to go anywhere for a few days – which ever comes first. Undecided

GET THE JUMP – SUCCESS MEANS BEING READY

It's always nice to be at least one month ahead in planning – even better to do quarterly and yearly planning.

It doesn't always have to be in January, now is a great time to regroup and get out your thinking cap for the coming season.

You can even do that while you kick back in a shady chair and enjoy the summer breeze.

It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.

I really like the idea to go vertical if you have a small space and manage work/home in the same space. Check out the shot of the floor to ceiling desk!
