The Science of Getting Rich - Review

I hope that you enjoy my review of 'The Science of Getting Rich' and more importantly, that you use it to boost your success and satisfaction with life to the next level… and beyond.

Most of us started our own businesses, and decided to work at home because we have high values and a large desire to live our lives on our own terms. We have a vision for better things… for us and for those we influence through our business dealings.

I've been a big fan of 'The Science of Getting Rich' by William Wattles for many years now, largely because it puts in clear and easy to understand terms exactly how we can do that, how we can live it and use our businesses for good, instead of E-Vil Furious.

SO WHAT'S THE DEAL ABOUT GETTING RICH?

When I first mentioned 'The Science of Getting Rich' to a friend of mine a few years ago, she seemed to have the wrong idea about what it was all about.

I knew as soon as I mentioned it that the first thing that came to her mind is that there was something greedy or underhanded about wanting to get rich – that what ever it was about – it was underhanded to plan to become rich.

I found myself immediately defending it.

The funny thing is that 'getting rich' isn't what first impressed me about the book – "getting rich" books are a dime a dozen these days.

I'll tell you what did in a moment.

Secondly, it does cause me to wonder at our sometimes knee jerk reaction or core premise that it is wrong to want to be rich.

Thirdly, we make an automatic assumption that 'getting rich' is primarily a monetary exercise.

WHAT DID IMPRESS ME ABOUT THE BOOK?

The thing that I found most impressive about 'The Science of Getting Rich' was that it is FULL of methods, mostly using your own mindset (and as a business owner, your mindset IS your business) to ethically get rich.

It stresses throughout that trying to get rich by being underhanded, forceful or dishonest is NOT the way to get rich.

It is not about positive thinking, it is about BEING positive and being of service to others.

And that is what I believe we all had in mind with the first sparkle of our own business idea. It probably came from something that we felt we had to offer others.

And then in the mundane and every day tasks that we find ourselves immersed in, we sometimes forget what our prime objective was in the first place.

This book is a reminder and an easy way to keep reminding ourselves and to brainstorm better ways to do it.

To be successful while giving more than we get.

Can you think of a better way to live?

A key concept in the book is the law of increase… for everyone.

Seems obvious but it is something that is well to remember and focus on in everything you do.

It certainly puts a whole new spin on getting rich.

In fact, the main premise is about how to get rich yourself, while making others rich as well, in one way or the other.

IS IT WRONG TO GET RICH?

Greed and deception in our everyday lives has poisoned us and causes us to think that yes… being rich… or wanting to be rich is wrong.

Greed and deception… taking from others is wrong… but that is not the same thing as being rich.

Upon further examination, it is easy to see that there are many good reasons to want to be rich.

  • If you are rich a whole world of opportunity opens up for you.
  • You can provide for your family.
  • You can pursue things that interest you.
  • You can help others.
  • You can be free to live your life the way you like.

Of course, you need to 'get rich' in the right way.

If you are working too hard to enjoy it, neglecting others or yourself, doing a job that you hate or feel that you are selling yourself out to get rich, you are going about it all the wrong way – and that can give getting rich a bad name.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE RICH?

  • Do you define being rich as having more than you need?
  • As taking from others to squander on unnecessary things for yourself? Or do you think of it as having enough?
  • As being happy?
  • As being free to choose?
  • As being thankful for the things that you have?
  • As having the ability and means to leave this world better than you found it?

This last point is huge, and for me one of the pivotal reasons for wanting to be rich.

If I am lacking in resources for myself, I don't have what I need to contribute to society, to my family or to the world as a whole. And that sucks.

There are a lot of ways that we can be rich, and I find more and more everyday that I am rich beyond measure in all that I am blessed to have.

But the truth is, if we are struggling to pay the bills, to feed ourselves and have no money for education or the pursuit of our own interests… or gasp… to have fun… we will find ourselves withering and not thriving.

In this state, we interrupt the natural flow of give and take.

Inside of 'The Science of Getting Rich', Mr. Wattles tells us that getting rich is

"life seeking fuller expression" and that "you can give others more by making the most of yourself".

Inside it is packed with nuggets of wisdom that will help you to go for what you want, and to do it in a positive and uplifting way.

And this book about 'The Science of Getting Rich' costs nothing!

How ironic is that Laughing.

You do have the option to get it on CD (I did and I love having it), and you can sign up for the study course for indepth study and usability – you choose what you want to pay. I've signed up for that too.

You can go here to download your free copy of 'The Science of Getting Rich'.

Watch for my next in a series of reviews of items that have had a positive influence in my life or business.

Coming up next is 'As a Man Thinketh', one of the most pivitol FREE CD's that I have ever owned.
