There is no better time than the New Year to get everything in your business tip top for the coming year.

Something about this time of year is positively energizing.

I love it… or did I already say that

There are a few basics that I always seem to do now to give me a good start to the new year.

TOP NEW YEARS BUSINESS RESOLUTIONS

• Clear clutter. Paperwork, shelves, bins, baskets – everything and anything is up for grabs, or should I say up for the shredder.

• Clean up computer files. This is one that I never do enough of. I just got a new computer a few months ago and it is already in need of a going over.

• Organizing my notebooks. Big one for me this year, this will be the year of the notebook! Vowing to use them this time!

• Organizing files. They seem to be a tad unfiled.

• Planning. My favourite thing.  Mapping out what goes, what stays and what I will do differently this year. Pinpoint major focus for 2008.

• Clean office. Top to bottom vacuuming and wipe down.

Those are actually tasks, the New Year Resolution part is to keep it that way! This is not a comprehensive list, that is what I call phase 2, but these are the foundation of success for anything else, so they come first.
