The Secret Ingredient to Laser Focus – Something Different

Work at Home Articles

Friday's 'In Focus' Article:

Looking at this week "In Focus", today's article tackles an issue that is so basic to all that we are doing, yet we seem to often over look it.

So what's the secret ingredient to laser focus?

It's simple… and complex.

Believe in Yourself

When I spend time browsing around internet marketing or work at home forums guess what I see?

I see 2 camps. The have's and the have nots.

The have's spend their time presenting their knowledge – building their authority, contacts etc.

They exude confidence.

The have nots spend their time asking questions.

Over and over again. Long after they know the answers.

Never taking their first cautious step to DO what ever they need to do to make money with their business – to present their expertise.

WHY?

Because deep down, the 'have not's' have lost their belief in themselves somewhere along the line.

Or possibly never quite developed it before getting lost in the maze of working on the internet.

To clarify, I am not saying it is wrong to ask questions, or to learn.

I am saying that…

there needs to be balance.

Another common thread I see is that people are suffering from 'analysis paralysis' and spending too much time and money on courses – and not enough time implementing them.

If you really think about it, what does that stem from?

Again, I'm not talking about the natural learning curve, or the need to learn a skill etc to enable us to DO something.

I'm talking about the never ending treadmill of input rather than focused output.

WHY DO WE DO IT?

Because we are putting off responsibility for ourselves for just a little bit longer. Leaning on others rather than ourselves.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH PRODUCTIVITY?

Everything. Without a firm belief in ourselves, our abilities and our own business, we will never do what it takes to be a success. We'll spend our days hiding and waiting for 'someday' when we are ready.

John Reese recently had something to say about how mindset effects our bottom line and how it was a big part of his record breaking million dollar day 5 years ago. You can read about it here.

One day, quite a few years ago I read this quote, it really put things in perspective for me.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light , not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of god. Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make and manifest the glory of god that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
