It’s Amazing What Having a Little Help Can Accomplish
My husband has been working away for almost 3 years – back every 2, most of the time 3 weeks for the weekend and gone again.
Needless to say, this put a huge load on me to take care of things around here myself.
He was home this weekend and is probably switching to a job at home now.
The difference in what was accomplished around here this weekend was unbelievable.
Even though both of my daughter's where having a "sleepover party weekend", the house was cleaner Monday than usual, I got a new Fresh Start article up at www.a-matter-of-time.com and I'm not totally worn out and in need of another weekend – for me!
Why is this?
It's because I wasn't running out the door to drive somebody somewhere a few times each day over the weekend, I didn't have to do the errands or take my van in to the garage and I didn't even have to do all of the dishes!
If you can't clone yourself, start thinking of ways to get some help, even if you need to pay someone, including your children, or import someone – maybe a neighbour for help at your house, or hire someone online.
I just had some great success at www.guru.com with help for the graphics that I need for my new Queen of KAOS site, coming soon! (make sure you subscribe to my newsletter or RSS for this blog so that you will be in on the announcement when it is ready, there will be some great new programs and intro pricing) Remember, 2 heads are better than one, and 4 hands are better than 2 if you need to get some work done to maintain your sanity and beat KAOS! What's the first step that you need to take to get some help?
Everyone can use it somewhere, especially if you are a work at home mom.
How about if you decide where you need the help the most and make a list of people or resources to help you find someone.
Decide if and how much you can pay them or if you can barter or trade services (do you have a friend who can switch off with you for childcare or household tasks?)
Or see what can be delegated to members of the household if the workload isn't balanced at the moment.
Get creative! Do this one thing today, and take the next step tomorrow. Put it on your calender right now.
