Non-negotiable time managment

Most of the time once we've figured out what we need need to do, and how we need to do it, we are often baffled at the next stage.

We actually do it for awhile, then suddenly we find ourselves drifting.

Something else comes along that throws out of our habit. Suddenly the time we had seems to have been swallowed up and we can't seem to find it again.

Next thing we know, it's just not working anymore.

And worse. After awhile we don't even notice that it's not working anymore.

Days become weeks. Weeks become months and soon a year, even two have passed.

And your looking around saying “what the heck?”.

How do we overcome this?

It's common. It happens all the time to people. It's one of the biggest reasons that people don't achieve their goals. They can't sustain the effort for an indefinite period of time, the amount of time that it takes.

TWO WORDS

Non-Negotiable.

The only way to take a wishy washy goal, one that you know you want to achieve. One you know that you NEED to achieve from wishful thinking to a solid achievement is to make it a non-negotiable. It's non-negotiable :0)

When you are faltering. When you don't want to do it. When you can think of 100 reasons not to do it. When you tell yourself that you don't have to do it. When you tell yourself that you will do it tomorrow.

That's when your 'non-negotiable' will save your hiney.

Say it out loud. Say it to yourself. Just say it and then get on with it.

It's non-negotiable.

I want the results. So doing what I need to do is non-negotiable.

And that's that.

A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

Recently I have been on a health program called Fit Yummy Mummy.

Over 3 months I have been motivated to begin the process of getting healthy, getting back in shape, regaining tone, losing weight (7.5lbs so far out of about 12 or so that I'd like to lose) and getting my glow back.

We did a 12 week challenge, it ended last Sunday for me. Then I was left with a temptation.

The challenge is over. I don't have to push anymore. I'm not reporting to anyone. I can relax a bit and let it slide for awhile.

SAY WHAT??? What did I do that for? Why would I even think it for a minute after all that hard work.

And then I said to myself – NO. I have made a deal with the devil (ok, Holly is not that bad!).

There is no going back. If I want to continue with my results, if I want to continue to see them, if I don't want to turn into a lump again, I have to make this a non-negotiable and continue with the amazing habits that I have developed over the past weeks.

After I write this, I'm going for a run/walk with my daughter. It's part of our Fit Yummy Mummy workout.

And then I'm going to have my protein shake and know that I've taken a step forward.

It's non-negotiable.
