Christmas has slipped in pretty fast this year.

It’s been one of the best yet so far and I think that may be because I decided to TAKE TIME this year before Christmas.

If you are stressing and can’t find the time to do the things you need to do, clear your plate of what ever you can right now.

Christmas only comes once a year, right? And you don’t want to be a grinch and miss any of the good times with your kids, you can never get them back.

I’ve posted some of my articles that may be of help to you from our archives below.

We braved the mall yesterday for a final Christmas shop, today I am going to be sorting through gifts and getting them wrapped up.

Christmas Shopping Tip – only in Canada eh?

If you live in Canada like I do, chances are you have a Zellers. I have started shopping there when ever I can because the points you can get on your HBC card really add up, I cashed in $200 to go towards Christmas this year. And it’s also does not seem as busy as ‘the other big box store’.

And as far as I know, it’s one of the few stores that are still Canadian owned. (I could be wrong on that, please let me know if that is the case). One of the reasons that it’s so nice to shop there is that people don’t go there so much anymore. I think that’s sad. It would be a real shame to see it close.

Besides, you can get some amazing Canadian clothing there – the red Canadian flag mitts are super warm too. I got a them for stockings and a pair for me (which my daughter already took off with – she hasn’t got hers yet).

Come to think of it, I think I’ll go back for a hoodie!

I went on a weekday, had planned to get there earlier but didn’t manage it. It was still fine – as a matter of fact it was pleasant. There were other shoppers but not jam packed so that every few steps there is someone in your path need to take a valium before you leave the store crowded at all.

We also stopped for lunch in the Zellers restaurant. I don’t know if they are all the same, but the one here is done up in a retro type design with chrome, glass and black/olive green accents, very clean and pleasant to be in. We had a great lunch too, I had to take a doggy bag home!

And

Don’t forget to bring your shopping bags!

SUSTAINABLE INSPIRATION

Speaking of environment and Christmas, here’s a quick little video to give you some resources and ideas on how to make a more sustainable Christmas this year. It is short but well worth the watch to give you the ‘real picture’ of what we are doing with our Christmas wrap, gifts and garbage.

Get Your Big Christmas List, It’s Free

And don’t forget to get your Big Christmas List if you haven’t got yours already.

If your head is muddled with Christmas prep, it may help you to clear it.

It’s the list I created one year when I was stressed out about what I needed to do before having family over for Christmas and it’s the list I use every year now.
