Healthy Homemade Cookie Recipes

This week the challenge was to make some chocolate chip cookies that tastes like 'normal' cookies but had a bunch of healthy stuff in them.

The original recipe called for coconut flakes, I left them out and just added more flour mix.

I reduced the sugar and still found them to be plenty sweet. The chocolate chips help out with that of course.

Over the years I don't think that I've ever baked with the full amount of sugar. If I'm adding chips, which I often – ok, almost always do – I cut it by half.

So now when I have the full amount, they don't taste right to me. Even the kids say they are too sweet.

I guess that's all part of training our taste buds.

It's interesting to think that we don't get the same reaction from store bought things that are loaded with sugar. I wonder why?

Although I do find that after I am off of them for awhile, they don't even taste good at all most of the time. Too salty. Too sugary. Too something.

Homemade rocks!

Anyway, here's the recipe link.

I started with a single batch and then made an extra x 4 so that I could save some for the freezer.

Here we go…
