Children Adjusting to New Routines

 I was recently reading a blog post about a 6 year old child who is showing some odd behaviour. She has just begun grade one at a new school this year.

This is my thought on it… 

 It sounds like she might be stressed out by something at the new school, or just by the adjustment.

Teen Safety - A Real Issue

I have been finding parenting my teenage son to be a bigger challenge now than when he was younger - since he’s older, my “no” response seems to need some polishing - he is responsible, he’s a good kid and I’m very proud of him, but kids just do foolish things - all in fun - and I can’t say for sure that he isn’t one of them!

So what to do?

An example of the seriousness of this issue is driving.

A Few Tips to for More Productive Kids This Summer

Things have been a little jumbled around here the last few weeks although all in all, not bad.

I haven’t implemented the summer rules fully so thought today would be a good day to start.

No TV time between 10 - 6 is a basic rule and the other is that the girls give me 15 minutes of chore time per day.

So today I finally enforced the rule. And guess what. I’m the proud owner of a clean fridge!

They took some things out that had no business being in there, and cleared a spot of things that belonged in our other fridge that I use for my natural skin care business.
