Sometimes We Need a Boost!

I am a firm believer that our attitude and emotions are largely controlled by our own thinking habits. And sometimes, or many times depending on the day, it is hard to stay in the mode of positive thinking - it really can be a challenge, especially if our habits are already ingrained as negative self talk.

Have you listened to your Self lately?

I know when I make a point of it, many times I don’t like what I hear. And all it takes is the decision to control our thoughts in a positive direction.

That does take some effort but it can be as simple as thinking to yourself “no matter what happens, this is going to be a good day, it is up to ME to decide”.

The first time it occured to me to try this, the sun was shining, it was  a day that nothing could ruin except my own thoughts and reactions to external events.

Not 5 minutes later I got a phone call that normally could have ruined my day (always a test!), and certainly my plans for it, but the bottom line was that it was a beautiful day and I had already decided that I was going to enjoy it, no matter what.

Guess what. The day turned out fine mostly because I took the set back in stride and didn’t make a big deal out of it. The even itself stayed the same, only my reaction changed.

It is with this in mind that I thought you would enjoy an article series by Aurelia Williams, a life coach - owner of Real Life Coaching. She tackles many issues that can bring us down, or raise us up.

I have heard her speak on various internet radio shows, she is smart, practical and knows what she is talking about - besides - she’s a mom doing a wonderful job raising her son.

So I am very pleased to be able to share her knowledge here.
