I am an analyzer by nature so procrastination comes easy (these days the “in” thing is planning, which is good, but you have to make sure at some point you switch to the DOING portion of the program!)
It got me thinking that maybe I spend too much time thinking about what I am going to do rather than doing it.
Some reasons for this are overwhelm, too many small things getting in the way (that is where planning and prioritizing come in) What can I get rid of (ask your self that :0)
Too Tired - Some days I hit a slump in the afternoon and am just too tired, either physically or mentally to do anything. At that point it is in my best interest (and of my family - I’m a grumpy tired person, I still remember it from infancy or there about :0) to have a 20 minute nap. Some days I hate to take the time but it always works out for the better.
A Little Bit of Everything - Pecking at many things rather than digging in to one. Always best to stick to one thing until you make some progress. The exception to this rule is if you are using a timer, the reason it is an exception is because the timer system involves repetition - if you are using it, you have set up a system to be using it again on a schedule until the task is finished (aren’t you?) You can do too many things this way as well though, so take care and try to focus on one or two main projects maybe with a few small ones sprinkled in for moral.
ACTION TIP
What is stopping you from just doing it? If there’s nothing, just go ahead and do it :0)
