Optimize your Output in 10 minutes

There is one thing that I do that can optimize my output in 10 minutes, really!
It sounds hokey, but it’s easy and I see the results immediately, my focus increases, my mood becomes more relaxed and I can plow through my work 10x as easily as I was 10 minutes before.
So what’s the secret?
Cleaning off my desk. I try to do it every day, sometimes it gets away on me and I am always sorry.
If you are wading through a mound of paper to find the project you are working on, or if you are loosing things that you need to get your work done, set your timer right now.
Start with 10 minutes. After that time if you want to go on, don’t stop. Set it again.
If it’s not too bad to start with, you will be amazed at how much better and more enjoyable it is to work on now.
TIP: If you don’t have time to sort the whole thing now, just clear the piles and put them in a box or basket beside your desk. You will be able to find them until you do get them put away but they won’t be “in your face”.
(I may have posted this before but it is one of those things that you can never say enough, it is that useful!)
