I've been puzzled and frustrated with site tracking since I started online.
It was common sense and obvious when I got a sale that tracking exactly where the click was coming from was super important.
The trouble was, that I didn't know.
I can see a lot of things with awstats on my server, and I even track some links, but none of them allow me to drill down to the exact information that I need.
- Which pages are the ones getting the most clicks? They aren't necessarily the most visited pages.
- Which keywords are getting the highest percentage of clicks?
- Where is the traffic coming from in the first place?
- Which specific pages AND categories are getting the most traffic?
This is specific and targeted information that I can't count the number of times that I have wanted to know.
- When I'm putting a new page up, I want to know, what keyword should I be optimizing for?
- When I am putting a new product or special on, I want to know, what are my most visited and clicked on pages?
- Where are the most popular clicks on the page?
- And how do all of my sites compare?
- Which site should I focus on?
- Which site and specific page should I post a quick special or new promotion on?
I really had no idea from the stats that I was looking at.
I FOUND A SOLUTION - FINALLY!
And then I came across Jonathan Leger's Super Site Tracker software.
To be honest, I took a day to think about it because it costs $65.00.
I don't think that is a lot to pay in return for what I am getting, but I have vowed to cut back on willy nilly spending for my websites. I've spent a lot of money over the years and haven't seen the return I was hoping for, for many reasons. One of them is that I didn't use a lot of them.
But I knew in my heart that I would use this and that I've been looking for it for a long time.
So I bought it.
I knew I'd be happy with it, but when I watched the video that comes with it, giving more detail, I was kind of sitting there with a dumb look on my face!
I couldn't believe how much better the user panel was than I expected, it's easy and you can look up almost anything with a click of the mouse. You can filter to specific stats on all of your websites together or each one individually. You can drill down to specific info per page or per click. You can rearrange the order to group like statistics (for example all pages visited from one directory in one place, I LOVE that one!)
If you use adsense or other ads, you can track them and see exactly which ones are pulling for you at the click of a mouse and quick glance.
No more clicking around ad nauseum and wondering what the heck it all means.
I immediately set it up on all of my sites.
It only took at most about 1/2 hour including time for me to upload the files which on my computer is always the hardest part (slow connection)
The instructions are clear and easy. At first glance I wasn't sure, but after I actually did it, I surprised myself at how smoothly and fast it was all finished.
So if you are looking for a good site tracker, and you should be if you want targeted and focused results for every bit of work that you do, I highly recommend that you check this one out.
BTW, if price is a concern, in the time that I've been looking into tracking services, I don't think that I found any that suited me the way this one does, and the average cost was $20 - $40 per month. You can see where the savings will be adding up!
UPDATE: I've had the Site Super Tracker installed since yesterday and can't believe the detail that is available with a quick click. I am LOVING this software. I don't recommend things lightly, but I do believe that this is a tool that IF USED can help you to pinpoint exactly where you can pinpoint your efforts on your website to see better results - to maximize what is already working and not waste time on what isn't - and that's what it is really all about.
