Work at Home Productivity Tips -

I really never thought that I would ever find such importance in such a small thing.

But it is becoming one of my number one resources.

It's a small, unassuming notebook that has taken up residence on my desk.

I had been meaning to get one for a very long time.

One day I was sorting out a basket and boom, there was a perfect little notebook for me to use.

So I put it on my desk.

The first day I found myself reaching for a small piece of paper to do some brainstorming, I checked myself and reached for the notebook instead.

Now I have a place to keep records of anything that I would like to reference – tasks that I have done that I may want a record of later, ideas, pretty much anything that I would normally write on a piece of paper and look for later.

My notebook is in one section, but I think it would be better to have one that has tabbed sections so that you can catagorize. I will probably do a section on tasks as I mentioned – orders packed and shipped, the date it was done, web pages put up, articles written etc.

Maybe a section for time tracking so that I know how long a project is taking me. Another section to hold brainstorming notes, things I will want to refer back to without loosing my ideas – or notes.

Try it, it beats the loose paper system hands down – ie sticky notes and paper scraps.

And it saves sorting time too.

You know what's coming, don't you!

• Get yourself a notebook and keep it where it is easy to access.

• Next time you are tempted to write a note to yourself, reach for the book.

• And use it to keep track of things that you seem forget but need to know later. You may even want to expand it into a log book of sorts, but for now, this is a good start.
