Grind It - Smart Tip #3

One of the best ways that I know to add nutrition to a meal, snack or smoothie is by grinding seeds.
I use a coffee grinder.
It works perfectly to grind almost anything - flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds.
I use these in baking all the time along with powdered milk to replace part of the flour in a recipe.
I also sprinkle ground seeds on almost everything I eat these days. I never used to put ground flax in smoothies because I didn't think the texture would be good.
I tried it and I can barely tell that they are in there.
I keep my coffee grinder on my counter and use it many times a day.
The fresher the ground seeds are when you use them, the more nutrients they will have.
You can grind a few ahead and put them in the freezer, but no more than a day or two, fresh is best.
