Make a Big Deal Of It – Again!
Wed, Aug 8, 2007
Sometimes things get so normal that we forget what an accomplishment it is, and that feeling of accomplishment is often what keeps us going.
I’ve been struggling to loose 5 lbs (and more would be nice) that I lost last year but gained back this year after the gymn closed, I got out of all of the good habits and on came those big bad stubborn 5lbs.
After pinpointing just one healthy habit that I wasn’t doing and was making the difference between off and on, I have finally gotten back down within range and hit the scale exactly at my original target weight finally yesterday (I seem to fluxuate a bit, but I saw that number!).
My state of mind however was quite different this time around, it felt more like I was getting back where I should be – shame for gaining it back in the first place – than a shining accomplishment, as it had when I hit it last year – it was my weight loss target goal after 3 months of hard, focused work.
I was very happy, but I had really forgotten exactly what a big deal it was, and still is.
Are you loosing out on a lot of motivation? I was.
Do you forget to celebrate each and every inch or lb lost just because you’ve lost it before?
If you do, go jump up and down, celebrate a little bit. Or a lot! You deserve it.
And now look how much farther ahead you are for the next round.
