Drinking Water to Fascilitate Weight Loss
Mon, Apr 2, 2007
During my weight loss challenge, I found that no matter how well I behaved in cutting out junk and controlling my eating habits, even if I kept up my exercise, I had problems loosing weight if I didn’t drink my water.
Even one water bottle per day, mine is 3 cups, made the difference.
So drink up!

Being pregnant with my 3rd child in close succession has definately had a fattening effect on my poor body! ATM, I can’t seem to get into the world of exercise, even though I know it will help me feel better, have a better energy level and help my body to “bounce back” better after this little one is born. It’s just too much “work” for me right now.
But I love this challenge, and it has actually been on my list of things I should do!
Drink more water. It’s the first little step towards making a better me.
Thanks for the reminder Janice!

I have found the same to be true for me. Constintently drinking water has helped maintain my weight. It took me a long time to figure it out and I tended to yo yo diet but have maintained for a while now — I really think a lot has to do think drinking water regularly.

I agree, water is very effective if you want to lose weight. Of course it can’t burn your fat but it stops hunger.

Drinking water helped me a lot when I was losing weight. Whenever I feel the urge to eat I just drink a glass of water, keep myself busy, and I’m good to go!

Water is definitely essential to losing weight and can also make you feel more full in between meals. If you have something in your stomach you wont get the hunger pangs and your organs will be more hydrated, giving you a little energy boost.
On the downside you’ll have to pee a lot but take the good with the bad

Yes! Drinking 8 glasses of water a day is important to your health, your normal diet and to help lose weight. Water is necessary for the metabolism of your stored fat. Weight loss cannot occur without an active metabolism which requires large quantities of water. Another way to use water to lose weight is to drink a large glass of ice water just before meals. The cold causes your stomach to shrink slightly which will make you feel full faster. It is much better if you also eat healthy food and with regular exercise. There are good benefits you can get when you exercise regularly. Exercise can reduce the risk of premature death, developing diabetes, depression and anxiety, improve psychological well being, enhanced work, recreation, and sport performance.

Great Blog! Water holds an important part of keeping our bodies healthy and sound. It also holds a large part in weight loss. Kelly Barton says “Water is the most neglected nutrient in your diet, but one of the most vital.” Aside from drinking the recommended daily amount of water our bodies need, exercise also holds a vital part in keeping our bodies healthy. Because there are no calories in water it is the best thing to drink when trying to shed those extra pounds.

Drinking water is soooo important when trying to lose weight. It’s good for your organs and helps you exercise quicker and drinking a tall glass of water before eating will help you feel full and eat less.

Water can be effective for weight loss particularly when we replace all the juice and soda in our diets with water. And as the comment stated above, water can also be used between meals to kep our hunger at bay.
I read the other day that when we get hunger cravings between meals it’s usually because we’re thirsty not because we’re hungry.

Yes, drinking water is extremely important for your health. Remember though that true weight loss isn’t about the scale, but more so about dropping inches and maintaining what you lose. When you lose safely you will drop about one percent of your body weight
a week. At first you may lose water weight, so it may seem like you are losing more. But when you calculate an effective weight loss program, be happy with one to two pounds a week. This is a healthy rate, and sometimes fat loss is replaced with muscle so the scale won’t change, but inches will. Good luck. Kirk

Drinking plenty of water can really be helpful : if you drink before or during you eat, your stomach will feel full faster. A mistake would be to drink just after your dinner.

Besides this, water is the best drink we can have ! more than 75% of the human body consists of water. Isn’t this a proof ?
A good tip : drink water during all the day, it will make your kidneys work at best. And you’ll be very surprised to drink around two liters a day.

Now that what I always told my relatives and friends - water is crucial for weight loss and crucial for overall health also. I experienced that in different ways - fasting with lots of water, dieting and exercising with lots of water. Actually, I had problems with kidney stones and the doctor who conducted surgery on me to remove the stones from urinary tract, when I asked him - what diet should I follow to never get to him again - he answered - the stones are made of crystallized salts. What do you use to dissolve the salt? Water? Then drink a lot, every day. So I did

Water is a powerful appetite suppressant. It’s always in my top 10 tips for losing weight. Anyone who is serious about starting a weight loss program needs to learn to drink more water before meals. It can make a huge difference on your calorie consumption.

That does make sense since water does clean you out. I like to do a cleanse for a few days of only water, after that I like to eat healthy I don’t lack anything. I eat my vegetables, proteins, carbs, “goodies”, and whatever else I want but I always start with a cleanse and water seems to do great!

People don’t understand the drinking water and the right amount of it is the single most important thing you can do to stay on track when you’re dieting. I know from personal experience, that being fully hydrated, allowed me to work out more, which in turn allowed me to burn more calories, which in turn allowed me to reach my weight goal.
