Success Tips Out of The Gate for the FYM Summer Challenge

    3 Month Fitness Challenge

I decided to brainstorm and IMPLEMENT some fitness challenge success tips right off the starting line, while I'm gearing up to participate in the second Fit Yummy Mummy Transformation Challenge.

This time around I know straight off what I need to concentrate on to take it up a notch and deflect some of the things that I found myself lacking on last time around.

It seems to be mostly in the area of what we're eating and being prepared to eat more healthy, live foods.

Also I'm rested up and have taken a break, so I am raring to make the extra effort.

Another thing is that since this is the second round, I am starting from a level that is a notch higher than the one I did in February.

Everything we do builds on itself.

It's something that I've been very pleased with when I find myself doing things, losing my motivation and then starting again.

My prior efforts always put me in a better position than if I was starting from scratch.

If you've made some efforts, even tried the challenge before but didn't make it through, don't let that stop you.

Jump right back in and you'll be surprised at how fast things come back to you.

The past weeks I've been sick and even before that I was finding myself slacking off here and there.

That did put me back but I am still much farther ahead and glad to be picking up again.

1 - Got Dax Moy's Elimination Diet and Cookbook. The information in the Elimination Diet ebook is extremely valuable and it's free, I highly recommend that you grab it.

I went one step further and also got the cookbook yesterday. I himmed and hawed about it during the last challenge but didn't get it because I was eating clean for the most part already. But I'm for some new recipe ideas and the motivation to take it a bit farther this time. And I have some catching up to do from the past weeks. Holly has set up a group inside of Club FYM to support us with the book as well.

2 – Cleaning my cupboards and fridge and prepping my kitchen - It is essential to be prepared with good food. The first step is to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. Preparing food in a clean and organized kitchen is the first step and the beginning of the challenge is an excellent time to do it. Cleaning and Organizing the kitchen is part of our Spring Cleaning Challenge. The official challenge is closed now, since it isn't spring anymore, but you can still get the resources and join the group for some support and structure to whip your kitchen – and the rest of your house into shape. And with summer holidays in full swing, there is no better time to have your kitchen 'yummy ready' with good food and to be one step ahead with organization decluttering.

3 -  Meal Planning - this is also where the Elimination Diet Cookbook comes in. I want to make some great and tasty recipes for myself and the kids this summer and could use some great ideas. Planning makes it so much easier to stay on track and eat the right things, it is sooo worth the small amount of time that it takes.

If you need some tips, check out Easy Meal Planning – Meal Time, On Time. Read my article on Meal Planning Tips for some great tips on making it easy. If you want a complete system to work with, try our Meal Time On Time ebook. Watch for additional resources that will be included with your purchase as well.

4 – Water Filters and a new Juice Container – I don't like to drink bottled water so I use a water filter. First thing I did was to change my old one and make sure that I had a few more.

Also, our juice pitcher had the biscuit, so I will be getting two new ones. One for the kids when they make juice, and one for homemade iced tea or flavoured ice water. This is a new one for us. Can't wait to see how our water consumption goes up.  Especially useful if the kids are used to drinking pop. I don't buy it anymore at all, so they only get it once in awhile when my husband brings it home. It's the first step and they will be more likely to give new ideas a try if the old stand by isn't around.

I do buy carbonated flavoured Perrier water for myself once in awhile for the bottles. I use them as my water bottles because they are glass. Even though I can clean them with boiling water, I like to replace them once in awhile. I use them around the house and at my desk.  Breakage of course, is an issue if you are travelling.

5 – Got my food diary out of the dust – I haven't been using it for awhile, and it shows! This was my number one tool to keep me on track. I include exercise and water as well. It's just a matter of writing water and exercise on the top of the page and checking it off every day. You can also use Holly's worksheets inside of her manual to stay on track.

6- Quite buying junk food. – I've been using up the food that we have so that we are due for a good grocery shopping. And guess what won't be in it. Junk food! My daughter's have requested this as well, so I am full and ready to jump on the opportunity. Another reason for the Elimination Diet Cookbook purchase.

7 – Daily Walk – I'm resuming my daily walk, something else I had gotten out of the habit of. A morning walk helps to pump up my results and it is such a great way to relax and get the creative juices going, I have no idea why I ever quit! It's a stunning morning here today, I am posting this article, and off I go.

Why not give it a try? When you're finished reading this article, pop off the computer and take a beautiful walk in the summer air. Let me know how it felt in the comment section below, I would love to here from you. Today is the first step. Tomorrow you will WANT to take another.

8 -Reviewing the Fit Yummy Mummy Lifestyle System – There's a lot of good information and motivation inside of Holly's manual. I am reviewing it and recreating my goals sheet.

I think that's it for now.

I am ready to get started with a BANG!

If you're looking for a true life changing experience, come along with me and get on board the Fit Yummy Mummy Summer Challenge.

It is definitely the time of year to be getting back on board with a Fit Yummy Mummy 12 Week Challenge – I am counting down the days to being 10lbs lighter and 12 weeks stronger!

Holly gives us assignments throughout the challenge, today it is to examine perfection and the effect that it has on our results – and how it can more likely than not cause more trouble than it saves. I am looking at that today.

How about you. Has perfection ever brought you down in your efforts to lose weight or get healthier?
