    Weight Loss Challenge Grad

    Yesterday marked the end of the 12 week Fit Yummy Mummy Transformational Challenge, but it's really only the beginning.

    I spent it quietly euphoric, as it seems the time of year for endings and new beginnings, graduations abound and it was fun to have my own milestone to celebrate.

    I had to get pictures but  no one was home to take them until supper time.  I had put lasagna in the oven to celebrate and they weren't hungry because they had eaten at my mil's. No big deal but I ravenous after trying to hold out until after. My daughter took the pictures for me but there was too much sun in the background so I had to retake later.

    Alas, I couldn't wait that long! I had two glorious pieces of delicious, mouth watering lasagna, with a bunch of water to wash it down… I find now that I don't eat a lot salt that anything canned with salt (spaghetti sauce for example) makes me thirsty. 

    I was already having a minor bloat day so I was concerned, but the "after the lasagna" shots didn't come out too badly, so in the end, all was well.

    What are my thoughts?

    • My biggest thought is gratitude – to Holly for running such a tight ship and putting so much personal effort into the whole program and support – it made all the difference.
    • My next thought is happiness. I feel so much better, am stronger and I KNOW that I am heading in the right direction. And it doesn't hurt that my clothes are fitting me better and I no longer have to dress to hide the jelly roll.

    As I had hoped, this summer I am going to be able to enjoy fashion and comfortable clothing, a huge deal for me. I HATE restrictive clothing – I'm not talking well fitting clothes that look nice, I'm talking clothes that dig and chaff, clothes that make lumps – HATE IT!

    Summertime always finds me in bare feet and flowing dresses or shorts and tanks – the freedom! It may sound like an oxymoron, but even those things are restrictive when you are carrying excess flab – you can't escape it, it follows you where ever you go.

    • Another thought is pride. I am proud of myself for completing the challenge. Did every week go perfectly? NO!

    But I made progress regardless and that is the best thing. I know that I don't have to commit to a lifetime of perfection. I just need to try and be sure that there is plenty of good mixed in with the bad and I will continue to succeed.

    It's a good deal!

    So all in all, I'm happy, proud and thankful to Holly who is a true angel on earth – talented, dedicated, beautiful… with a spirit that shines through in all that she does.

    Below are pictures of my progress through the challenge. I have to tell you, I don't like getting my picture taken, I freeze and cannot relax (I was once told I should have a few drinks first, I probably should!) But, there is progress, as much in my general health and outlook as size and toning – which is coming along – slowly but surely. 

    I have joined the After the Challenge group on Club FYM as well, so there will be more to come. I'm figuring on more toning and losing about another 5lbs, hopefully finally coming off of the belly bump, there isn't a whole lot left anywhere else, although it is surprising where flab lurks.

    I'm hoping that if you are reading my blog and seeing my progress, that you will see also that it is possible for you.  Club FYM is brimming with success stories, a variety of shapes and sizes… goals and situations… 

    You can be there too.

    You don't need to do a challenge, there will be another one coming up soon. You don't have to take pictures – although you should if only for yourself. You just need to commit to and follow the program. You should take advantage of the community, it is a pillar of strength, knowledge and motivation.

    You can do it in what ever way suits you. The key is that YOU CAN DO IT. 

    It's a process, and I am glad to be on board.

    I hope that you will decide today to get off the treadmill of failed diets, abandoned exercise plans and lost hope, and get on with it with Fit Yummy Mummy.

      Jan!
      You have achieved SO very much over the past 12 weeks! Not only has your reflection of this journey moved me…as I hope it will move others…but your after pictures are vibrant and radiate the fact that this is a change that has taken place from the inside out!

    It is definitely the time of year to be getting back on board with a Fit Yummy Mummy 12 Week Challenge – I am counting down the days to being 10lbs lighter and 12 weeks stronger!

    Holly gives us assignments throughout the challenge, today it is to examine perfection and the effect that it has on our results – and how it can more likely than not cause more trouble than it saves. I am looking at that today.
