    Fitness For Mom, Weight Loss

Fitness and Weight Loss Challenge for Moms

Things at this point seem to be running on almost autopilot, which is I suppose the main idea of a Fit Yummy Mummy lifestyle.

I still have room for improvement as far as adding a few more veggies into my diet and being sure that my meals and snacks are balanced, but all in all, I am finding it a habit to eat much healthier.

I am making an effort to eat cleaner, reducing the main offenders. As it happens, this week I was driving for a day so had the usual coffee and Tim Horton's whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, another coffee at my sister's house to get me home (I was tired! Went with my son to pick up his first truck. It was a monumental day for both of us).

But when I think about it, if my main cheat is an extra coffee, I'm not doing too badly, although I would love to eliminate coffee again at some point. I know at one time in my life, it would have been nothing to have had a large cappuccino and 2 donuts!

So stats for this week are

MY STATS WEEK 8 – Here are the main numbers that I am looking at…

    * Weight 128.5 lbs (down 1 lb, watching 130, the stubborn number, become a mere memory!)

    * Waist 72cm (down 1 – hoping that I have finally hit the point where the belly fat is going to go)

    * Belly Bulge 84.5 cm (going slowly but surely)

    MY STATS WEEK 7

    * Weight 129.5 lbs (holding even after easter!)

    * Waist 73cm (same)

    * Belly Bulge 85 cm (down 1 again! This is great because it is my biggest problem area)

    HITS

    • was sure to do my interval workout before leaving with my son for a long, long day of driving. At one time I would have automatically fluffed it off as "not having enough time". This time, I saw it as extra important since I would be sitting all day.
    • had some snacks that where not my first choices as healthy eating, but did control myself and counted them as controlled cheats, meaning that I didn't pig out too much and was able to factor them in comfortably.
    • told my husband once and for all no more booze in the house. May sound mean to some, but alcohol has been a huge problem in our marriage (we are talking major problem) and the deal was already agreed upon a few years ago, only to weasel it's way back in again. For me, this means no more temptation to kick back with a few beers or cheap wine (the only kind I like!), which sets me back.
    • when I was grocery shopping I found that my eating habits truly have changed. I no longer even wanted things that I used to consider treats and couldn't wait to get into. Score!
    • finding myself drinking water for no reason! It's become a habit to get a glass of water every now and again through out the day. Totally new concept but I like it!

    MISSES

    • still waffling (pardon the pun!) on making more salads and preparing good snacking food ahead. I know it would help a lot.
    • ate foods that I consider not to be on my best interest list more often than I should have. Main culprit being snacks for my daughter's lunch. Again, I need to plan and make ahead better food for her as well.
    • did all of my exercises except one. I need to keep better track of when and what I do to help me to stay accountable, so I have written them back on the calender. I find this to be very helpful.

All in all, things are rolling along well. I am seeing progress, a step at a time and looking forward to feeling good this summer and being comfortable instead of feeling miserable and hiding under a bunch of layers.

It's not too late. If you want to get started now and get in better shape every week, the Fit Yummy Mummy Lifestyle Program will help you.

I don't know what I would have done without it.

Actually I do. I would have continued to procrastinate and make excuses and would have felt like total crap and aged before my time. That's what!

If that sounds like you, it doesn't have to be that way.

      Thanks Alice!

It’s nice to be moving ahead and realizing that age doesn’t have so much to do with it as simple habits.

It is definitely the time of year to be getting back on board with a Fit Yummy Mummy 12 Week Challenge – I am counting down the days to being 10lbs lighter and 12 weeks stronger!

Holly gives us assignments throughout the challenge, today it is to examine perfection and the effect that it has on our results – and how it can more likely than not cause more trouble than it saves. I am looking at that today.

How about you. Has perfection ever brought you down in your efforts to lose weight or get healthier?
